For our client we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Warehouse (Site) Manager, to join the fast paced e-commerce logistics team. The Warehouse (Site) Manager will be responsible for overseeing the 24/7 warehouse operations, the front front desk and the overall facility (10.000m2) near Schiphol, ensuring effective and efficient processing management, and maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
In the role of Warehouse (Site) Manager we are looking for strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a profound understanding of e-commerce logistics processes are imperative. The position plays a pivotal role in overseeing logistics staff, implementing streamlined processes, and addressing challenges to ensure seamless operations and timely fulfillment of customer orders. Cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards are key aspects to maintain. The role expects exemplification of leadership and fostering team growth.
The Warehouse (Site) managers possesses a problem-solving mindset, entrepreneurial drive, professional background, and proficiency in utilizing data.

The Warehouse (Site) Manager has 4 direct reports (Shift Leaders) and will report into the COO.

The main responsibilities for the Warehouse (site) Manager are:
Customs Compliance

  • Lead and manage a team of 4 Supervisors (total 75FT) to ensure the adequate processing of the parcels through the E- hub
  • Set performance expectations, provide guidance, and foster a positive and collaborative work culture
  • Oversee Inbound, Sorting and Outbound processes to ensure timely and accurate performance
  • Monitor and optimize processing workflows to improve efficiency
  • Efficiently allocate warehouse space, equipment and resources to maximize productivity
  • Implement layout and storage strategies to minimize congestion and streamline operations
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and condition of outgoing parcels
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for all warehouse activities
  • Create and install plans for sorting, storage and disposal of waste based on the volume handled
  • Promote a culture of safety by enforcing safety protocols and measures, including training programs,
    protective gear and emergency response plans
  • Utilize warehouse dashboards and other technology tools to optimize operations and track performance
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Generate regular reports on warehouse and front desk performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as actual time of arrival at Destination, Cargo received at warehouse, processing time, cargo ready for dispatch and cargo delivered versus ultimate delivery date/time
  • Collaborate with vendors and logistic partners to optimize inbound and outbound shipments
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Implement best practices and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Support the functionality, safety and sustainability of our facility, groundsand infrastructure

We are looking for a candidate with a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience in warehouse management within the e-commerce or logistics industry
  • Strong leadership and (operational) team management skills
  • Experienced in implementing process optimizations
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and othe relevant software
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Data-driven: capable of understanding data and translating it into effective process improvements
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Hands-on
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Flexible
  • Willing to be present 5 days a week
