Bureau Supply Chain Recruitment is looking for a Demand and Supply Planner for our client in the med-tech industry. (Amsterdam)

The Demand & Supply Planner will report to the EMEA S&OP Manager.
The position is based in Amsterdam at the regional EMEA HQ, (with 70 fte) worldwide there are over 150 offices. The company has been growing rapidly, and this is a new position.

By bringing in a Demand & Supply Planner in the EMEA region, they would like to further grow the  EMEA Supply Chain Organization establishing processes and tools. The main goal of the role is to deliver improved service to customer by aligning commercial sales plans with production capacity and execution. The shortterm key deliverables should be alignment between the various disciplines and gathering & analysing data to design an action plan with concrete steps. To achieve both long- and short-term goals, the position needs to act on operational, tactical and strategical level.

The Demand & Supply Planer will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Develop rolling demand & supply forecast for bulk and RX products on multiple time horizons & levels of aggregation
  • Collect historical data and forecast inputs, research sales indicators & analyse forecasting data to design a statistical sales and purchase forecast
  • Connect with sales, marketing, operations and finance to collect input on forecast drivers and create a consensus forecast
  • Convert sales plan into purchase plan taking into consideration lead times, open POs and safety parameters
  • Quarterly sign off of the forecast with senior management as part of the budgeting process
  • Ensure volume forecast update and qualitative forecast summary is provided with clear understanding of key assumptions, gap drivers and changes in plan
  • Supports and captures key business drivers (e.g. market share, trade/promotional activity, inventory requirements, competitive activity) to understand their impact on current and future forecasts. Translates that insight into improvements in forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and take necessary measures to achieve customer service satisfaction & MOH targets
  • Lead Demand Review meetings to achieve accurate forecast with input and consensus of all multifunctional stakeholders
  • Create Purchase Orders to factories and monitor supplier delivery performance
  • Raise supply issues and provide feedback in due time on priorities and impact. Work together with manufacturing and sales to find solutions
  • Follow up on KPIs and in process metrics, report gaps and action plans for improvement
  • Constantly evaluate business performance, look for opportunities to improve Demand & Supply Planning processes whilst initiating changes

KEY TASKS

  • Manage forecasts, design process improvements and perform data analytics for assigned EMEA Operations or customers
  • Work with Marketing, Supply Planning, Procurement and Logistics to understand demand and supply needs and to support European operational goals and metrics
  • Develop end-to-end demand planning solutions as well as manage related project executions
  • Bring together and align business objectives, financial targets, Demand & Supply
  • Drive a collaborative decision-making process that balances functional goals and constraints
  • Move to a mid/long term ‘unconstraint’ Sales & Demand review, for appropriate capacity planning

This should result in improved spend optimization, productivity and operational efficiency, improved stock turns and inventory reductions plus increased revenue growth as well as improved customer relationships & customer satisfaction.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within Supply Chain Management
  • Prior experience leading and embedding S&OP best practices
  • Strong knowledge of Demand Planning Management
  • Strong analytical skills, manage big sets of data
  • Understands the commercial drivers of Marketing and Sales
  • Is aware of market developments and trends
  • A background in medical devices or similar industry is preferred
  • Able to work with demand planning systems and BI tools
  • Experienced in professionalizing processes and systems
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Finance is preferred
  • It is essential that the incumbent of the role thinks strategically, connects the dots in the bigger picture and is comfortable in the details of the deliverables
